Southampton Village is a mix of new and old, historic and modern, business and beach. The sprawling village has seven miles of some of the most beautiful oceanfront property on Long Island, and one of the busiest commercial areas in the Hamptons. The charming village center, situated around Main Street and Jobs Lane, has boutique shops and restaurants, and the tree-lined side streets are home to some of the most expensive real estate on the South Fork. The Shinnecock Indian Reservation is just minutes from downtown, where the tribe maintains its cultural roots.

Southampton Village plays home to some the wealthiest of Hamptons families, who summer in country houses situated “South of the Highway” — meaning below Hill Street and Hampton Road — and spend their days at private resorts like the Meadow Club. Billionaires such as hedge-funder John Paulson and businessman David Koch have properties here, taking helicopters in for the weekend and landing on the village’s own helipad. Homes start at $800,000 and go all the way up to $100 million, with most in the $8-to-$12 million range.
